Title: Vice President, Content and Programming

We have an exclusive opportunity to work for a leading Association for a VP of Content and Programming.

Key Responsibilities

Works closely with Vice President of Conferences and Events and members of the executive team on all aspects of event programming, thought leadership and sponsorship. Leads content and programming team.

Position Summary:

This highly acclaimed Association represents the global alternative investment industry by advocating for public policies that foster efficient, transparent, fair capital markets, and competitive tax and regulatory structures. The key stakeholders the Association interacts with include hedge fund manager members, industry partners, media, policymakers (U.S. and EU), existing and potential industry investors and the general public.

The Vice President, Content and Programming will be a part of the Membership, Investor Relations and Content team and will oversee the development of major conference programming, panel development and content preparation for all nine US and global conferences. The individual will help build advisory boards for six major conferences and also provide support for programming symposium, forums and seminars on an on-going basis.

The Vice President, Content and Programming will also be responsible for working to simultaneously program all upcoming events and actively seek out the most innovative and compelling program speakers while balancing sponsor engagement. They will also be responsible for the design and content of the on-site materials, production editing (content) and end of event surveys and analysis. The Vice President, Content and Programming will also, be tasked with preparing scripts for the leadership for all major conferences. The Vice President, Content and Programming will also be focused on maintaining and expanding the Company investor database as part of their outreach on the programming side and building the relevant investor programming.

The Vice President, Content and Programming will work closely with the Association’s executive team to program content around key policy and operational issues and engage with the Association’s members on various topics.

A successful candidate will have a strong background (ideally 8+ years) in content development, event programming and execution and a solid knowledge of financial markets and the investor universe in the alternative investment space. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and established relationships in the fund manager and investor space and a solid understanding of how to engage the industry’s key constituencies. Booking and event production experience is also helpful.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Manage the content and programming team Build and oversee sponsorship of major conferences with an eye toward integrating content and sponsorship where applicable. Seek out global and multi-event partnerships to increase revenue for the organization.

· Build and manage advisory boards for the six major conferences in the U.S. and EU.

· Conduct and oversee speaker recruitment and develop relevant, high impact and innovative program content and relevant research.

· Oversee investor database management and audience development.

· Manage speaker registration and panel preparation for all-conference panel participants as well as keynote speakers.

· Work with relevant C-suite individuals at member firms on position-specific forums (i.e., Chief Technology Officer Forum, Human Capital Forum, etc.)

· Write all on-site scripts and program materials for leadership.

· Write and collaborate on all content for the event advertisements, online marketing, and social media outreach.

· Manage on-site speaker engagement, speaker registration and panel logistics at each event, on-site live executive production.

· Manage legal and compliance obligations in conjunction with the counsel for all speakers.

Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in finance, journalism or a related discipline is

desirable.

· A minimum of 8 years of programming, marketing and/ or communications experience, preferably within the financial services or private sector.

· Experience developing and executing programming for events focused on the financial services space and a solid understanding of the investor and fund manager universe.

· Excellent knowledge of the latest communication channels and trends (social media, interactive portals, etc.) and tactics for effective use of each.

· A good understanding of the financial services industry and a history of effective communication with investors, regulators, and/or clients.

· Superior writing, editing, and verbal presentation skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with tact and ability to creatively solve problems using excellent interpersonal skills.

· Ability to multi-task projects in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to excel under pressure and implement last-minute details and changes confidently.
